The main Hebrew word:
• Shacah – to bow down in obedient reverence
The main Greek Word:
• Proskuneo – to bow down and kiss the hand of
The Old English:
• Derived from the word worth-ship.
• Meaning to denote worthiness to the one
receiving the honor or devotion.

Has worship become an amusement service or a
service in reverence to God?
Have you heard?
• “Worship is boring.”
• “We need to spice up our worship.”
• “I never get anything out of worship.”

Authority is vital:
• “not beyond the things that are written.”

• Isaiah was cleansed. (Isaiah 6:7-8)
• Isaiah was recommitted because of his
reverence to the Lord. (Isaiah 6:8)
