  2. Slide 2: The Book and the Confusion The Da Vinci Code brings other works into consideration: – The Templar Revelation – Holy Blood, Holy Grail – The Woman with the Alabaster Jar • These books are not considered fiction but truth.
  3. Slide 3: Your Reason and Anchor “We have an anchor that keeps the soul steadfast and sure…” Our anchor is the truth of God: – Truth of His promises. (Hebrews 6:12-20) – Truth of His words. (John 17:17) – Truth of His Son. (John 14:6)
  4. Slide 4: The Challenging Questions Was Jesus a good mortal man? – If he was mortal, then he is not risen. • The tomb is empty! (Luke 24:1-3) • He was seen by many. (1 Corinthians 15:3-8) – Jesus is the Son of God. (John 3:16; Acts 9:20) A Question for Mr. Brown: “If Jesus is a good mortal man, how could he ask people to die for a lie?”
  5. Slide 5: The Challenging Questions Was Sunday always the day of worship? – We have Biblical evidence that the early Christians gathered on Sunday. – Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:1,2 – Pentecost (Acts 2) was on Sunday. – This is well before Constantine in 325 A.D.

Slide 6: The Challenging Questions Was Mary Magdalene the wife of Christ? – There is no Biblical evidence to support a claim. – The argument for the marriage” are taken from: • The Gospel of Mary (written 150 years after the death of Mary) • The Gospel of Philip (written 150 years after the death of Philip) • These are the only “gospels” that mention the marriage.
  7. Slide 7: The Imagination of One The fictional imagination of one man challenges many people’s faith. “What challenges us, only makes us stronger.”
  8. Slide 8: The Challenge Will this book waver your faith? Will these ideas cause you to study your beliefs? Will these thoughts cause you to stand firm in your beliefs? Will this obstacle become a “door of opportunity” for teaching?
  9. Slide 9: Your Response Which response do you choose: – Felix (Acts 24:25) – Agrippa (Acts 26:28) – Those on Pentecost (Acts 2:37-41) The words of man will only bring you closer to man, the words of God bring you to God!
