The origin history of the lyceum comes from Greece, thenfrom Russia, Tsarskoye Selo, where studied the greatest poet of Russia and thefounder of the modern Russian literature. So our lyceum is fully concerned with Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
Our school principal is Leonid Georgiyevich, an IT teacher
Our so-called ‘first-formers’ are new studentswhich start their new school lifeon coming in the seventh form. We have a ceremony ofdedicating them to real lyceumstudents. The ceremony comes from Greece, which’s become an annual tradition. The main characters who dedicatestudents are Apollo, Greek God of knowledge (it’s our principal), and his muses(10- year students).
There are 3 main profiles of studying: 1)Physics and maths 2)Languages and humanities 3) Chemistry and biology, as natural sciences. The differentiationsystem helps studentsto choose their further future job.
Between lessons we havespecial breaks, where studentsimprove their health instead of waiting for the next lesson. You can dance, do gymnastics, or take part in small sport contests. That’s good for our digestion, as we mainly eat cold fast food.
The physical education includesdifferent kinds of sports, such asvolleyball, basketball, footballclimbing, tabletennis, skiing, gymnastics, badminton, etc.
Our pride in badminton is an English teacher,Galina Vladimirovna, which is the winner of numerous competitions. That’s why she’s got a nickname: “The first racket”! Price out her yellow Professionaltr ainers and a racket!!!
The pride of thelyceum is the winners of local and regional contests andolympiads on different subjects!!!
