  • It turned into Innovation Gainesville.
  • We spent months doing research and spoke with hundreds of individuals. The one thing that consistently came through---we have abundant assets in our community—research, smart people, educated people, noted leaders in fields. That puts us way ahead of our peers when it comes to competing for companies and for talent.
  • Introduce Brian
  • And as you can see from this conceptual rendering of Innovation Square, we have a tremendous opportunity to capitalize on the reputation we have garnered as Innovation Gainesville. This vision for INNOVATION SQUARE is that it will not only be home to our new Florida Innovation Hub and buildings for our graduating companies but that there will also be high tech companies who for years have wanted to move to Gainesville to tap into the brainpower both in terms of faculty and students but have been unable to find an adequate facility within close proximity to the university. The impact of INNOVATION SQUARE will mean not only jobs for our citizens and students but it will enable us to raise the quality of life for the residents of our community.
  • Brent mentioned the Cade Prize for Innovation…plans continue for the Cade Museum to be located at Depot Park in the downtown. To have an institution like this in our community only adds to our recognition for innovation and the ideas being generated locally.
