The 4th EFQUEL Innovation Forum willtake place in Lisbon, Portugal incollaboration with the Catholic University ofPortugal (UCP) and the National Institutefor Public Administration of Portugal (INA).The annual assembly of eLearning andeducation professionals will debate howopening education can contribute tosocial inclusion agendas and promoteeconomic wellfare through betterequipping citizens with necessary skills.   2. 2. The conference takes place at the InstitutoNacional de Administração (INA), situatedin the gardens of the old Palace deMarqueses de Pombal in Oeiras, close toLisbon, in Portugal.The Forum will start on September 8thwith a pre-conference day, followed by themain conference SEPT 9-10, 2010.

  6. 6. Nowadays pupils are digital natives: They aregrowing up with internet, mobile devices andcomputer games. On the other hand,teachers are still basing their lessons ontextbooks and traditional learning material -often because they are knowing rather littleabout new technologies and how to use themin the classroom.The European Network for Growing Activity inGame-based learning (GBL) in Education seesthe high potential of computer games inparticular to engage pupils in the schoollessons.The objective of the workshop 3 is to trainteachers in introducing innovative technologybased ways of teaching such as OER and GBLin order to improve the quality of Primary andSecondary Education.
  7. 7. The workshop 3 is partly held in Portuguese andEnglish.
