  2. 2. INTERPOL Resolution• Sept 2005, Berlin, INTERPOL General Assembly adopted Resolution AG-2005-RES-07: recognizing the need to implement an international Missing Persons and Unidentified dead bodies database (MPUB) at INTERPOL General Secretariat in Lyon
  3. 3. Today’s Facts• No centralized MPUB database on regional or worldwide level yet• Couple of countries are running national MPUB databases without interlinking
  4. 4. FASTID Project• Project kick off 1 April 2010• Duration 36 months until March 2013• EUR 3 million R&D project co-funded by the European Commission under its• 6 partners within a project consortium
