3M had a unique opportunity to sell its state of the art Digital
Merchandising to a prospective client. The objective of Digital
Merchandising is to use innovative technology to de-clutter point of
purchase displays in a retail environment. Instead of a traditional sales
pitch showing images or video of the product, 3M wanted to bring the
technology to life. They called on GES to transform a storage closet in
the 3M Innovation Center into various retail environments such as a
convenience store, liquor store, and bar where they could showcase
their technology for their prospective client.

The objective of DigitalMerchandising is to use innovative technology to de-clutter point ofpurchase displays in a retail environment. Instead of a traditional salespitch showing images or video of the product, 3M wanted to bring thetechnology to life. They called on GES to transform a storage closet inthe 3M Innovation Center into various retail environments such as aconvenience store, liquor store, and bar where they could showcasetheir technology for their prospective client. GES designed and builtthe space in two nights (after work hours).The installation included: • A storefront entryway which set the stage for the innovative pitch. • Window, floor and wall graphics. • Three dimensional “virtual presenters.” • Coolers, shelving units and a bar.GES’ quick design and installation allowed 3M to secure their businesswith the prospective client.
