Documents Required for Transfer Applications:<br />-Completed Common Application, Including Supplement<br />-$50 Application Fee (May be Waived if a Financial Hardship)<br />-Application Essay<br /> -Two Letters of Recommendation from Professors<br /> -Official Copies of All College Transcripts<br /> -Official Copy of High School Transcript or GED Results<br /> -SAT or ACT Results if Student has Fewer than 30 Transferable Units<br />6<br />

  8. 8. Additional Documents Required for International Applications:<br />-Certification of Finances Form (Available on the Whittier Web Site)<br />-TOEFL Scores for Non-Native Speakers <br />(550 Paper Score, 213 Computer-Based Score, 80 Internet-Based Score)<br />8<br />

Transfer Students are Successful at Whittier College:<br />-80% Retain from First to Second Year of Enrollment<br />-65% Graduate from Whittier<br />-Average Time to Graduation is 2.5 Years <br />(Many Enter with Fewer than 60 Units)<br /> -Hispanic Students Retain and Graduate at Same Rates <br />as Caucasian Students <br />(Whittier is a Hispanic Serving Institution)<br />10<br />

Merit Awards Available to Transfer Students:<br />-Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above will receive <br /> a merit-based scholarship ranging from $10,500 to $13,500 <br /> per year to be used toward tuition at Whittier College.<br />-No Need to Complete an Additional Application for Scholarship<br />-Additional Need-Based Funding is Available as Well<br />12<br />

Applying for Need-Based Aid at Whittier College:<br />-Students Must Submit the FAFSA <br /> (by March 2 in Order to be Eligible for Cal Grant Funding)<br />-Additionally, Students Must Submit the Whittier College <br />Basic Asset Data Sheet (Available On-Line or at our <br />Office of Financial Aid)<br />-Students Who have been Flagged for Verification will also <br />Need to Submit Copies of Their Taxes, Parent Taxes, and <br />a Student Verification Worksheet<br />13<br />
