    • 3. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “ All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
    • 4. 1. What is the Bible? The Bible can be defined as the sacred book that contains the Word of God written by many different authors under the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
    • 5. 2. Importance of the Bible?
      • It contains the Word of God and revelation of Jesus Christ.
      • It contains the divine laws.
      • It contains 66 books which are the summary of over 40 writers throughout the ages.
    • 6. 3. Aspects which Distinguish the Bible from other books:
      • The purpose of the Bible is to provide instruction and to lead man to the knowledge that Jesus is the only way to the Father.
      • There are 4 features that distinguish the Bible from other books…
    • 7. a. The revelation of God to man.
      • This revelation was originally transmitted orally from generation to generation and then written.
      • Now it has been brought to people all over the world!
    • 8. b. The Salvation of Man
      • It introduces Jesus Christ who brings our salvation.
      • It indicates how salvation can be obtained by the grace of God with a public confession of faith and obedience to the Word.
      • It states who receives salvation: those who through faith in Jesus, have become people of God. (Acts 13:16-40)
    • 9. c. In Reference to Truth
      • “ Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17)
      • “ I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.” (1 John 2:21)
    • 10. d. Jesus is the main Character
      • Jesus is described in the Scriptures as the only way to God, salvation through the cross, and resurrection.
