    • #9-Don't be a Liar
    • http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=K7Y7ZPNX
    • Exodus 20:16
"You shall not give false testimony against yourneighbor."
    • We all lie for the same reason: To Avoid Pain
    • Pain of consequences
    • Matthew 26:69-75Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. "You also were with Jesus of Galilee," she said.
    • But he denied it before them all. "I don’t know what you’re talking about," he said. Then he went out to the gateway,
    • where another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, "This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth."
    • He denied it again, with an oath: "I don’t know the man!" After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said,
    • "Surely you are one of them; your accent gives you away." Then he began to call down curses,
    • and he swore to them, "I don’t know the man!" Immediately a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken:
    • "Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly.
    • Pain of Embarrassment
    • 1 John 1:8-9If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
    • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
    • Psalm 32:3-5When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me;
    • my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.
    • I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
    • Proverbs 28:13Those who conceal their sins do not prosper, but those who confess and renounce them find mercy.
    • Pain of Accountability and Growth
    • James 5:16
    • Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
    • Are you telling the last 10%?
