3. CVE Trooper Training
• Training.
– 160 hours- Part A, Part B and Size/Weight.
– 8 weeks of FTEP.
– 104 hours- HM, Cargo Tank and Other Bulk
Packaging.
– 80 hours Post Crash.
– 24 hours Passenger Carrier Inspections.
4. Inspection / Citation Review Process
• Driver- Inspection Review.
• Weekly Reports- reviewed by sergeant.

5. Inspection Processes
• Inspections Without a Citation.
– Requests for Data Review would go directly into the
system.
• Inspections With a Uniform Commercial Citation.
– Commercial Motor Vehicle Review Board and adjudicated
citation process.
• Inspections with a Uniform Traffic Citation.
– Court and adjudicated citation process.
• Adjudicated Citation Process.
– Applies to inspections starting August 23, 2014.
– Conviction, Dismissed/Not Guilty, or Lesser Charge.
– Carrier must provide the court documentation.
6. Request for Data Review - Process
• Data Q Specialist receives RDR and assigns to the
appropriate tier.
• Tier 1- To District Commander.
• Tier 2- To Troop Commander.
– Carriers should indicate that they have previously
Data Q’d the violation.
• Original Data Q.
• New Data Q and reference previous Data Q.
• Tier 3- To Deputy Director.
– Will contact the carrier.
7. Best Practices
• Be specific on the violation and the reason for the
Data Q.
• Frivolous Data Q’s.
• Provide pertinent background information.
– Reference the regulation or interpretation
– Logbooks- day plus previous 7, lease agreements
• Include pictures and attachments.
• Inspections 3 years / Crashes 5 years.
• Maximum size- 5 megabytes (issues- call us).
