A presentation given as part of the Human-Centred Design Institute (HCDI) Seminar series. This is an outline sketch of some of the theoretical work behind a public engagement project I'm working on and the part time Masters in Design Research that I'm also pursuing.

I very much enjoyed the photos as photos and as family snapshots - they impressed me all over again with your fitness and physique and technical skill.
I was very impressed with your presentation as a presentation.
I liked the quote from Weiner and thought it was confirmation for my own situation - and he gives no clue about how to engage the ?vast majority who just want things as they are and sometimes resent having to think about or learn new things.
I did some research some years ago looking in detail at engaging patients on how they would like to improve services. I hoped at the time this would raise awareness among staff that we often don't do this very well. Despite being published in journals as famous as the Lancet I never received any feedback to suggest that anyone has read or used this information - so there is a lot to do in the public services where patients are not directly paying for and controlling what happens to them. I suspect there is some interesting research on why people think that something ISN'T relevant to them. FB
