  • 1. Opportunities with Connected Vehicles in Western Europe Connected vehicles are the future of the automotive industry. Vehicle manufacturers will rely more and more on cloud-based backend systems for content, information, and services. This is turning the vehicle into a smart phone on wheels with a huge data storehouse. According to the recent study conducted by Machina Research the wireless network connection was present only in one of ten vehicles. It is estimated that in 2020 it will be absent only from one of ten. Finpro experts have carried out interviews with leading West-European vehicle manufacturers and their 1st tier partners, analyzed the industry value chains and recognized concrete business opportunities for Finnish companies.
