Olympic Dream Run
Tuesday 5th June 2012
The Olympic Dream Run will take place on Tuesday 5th June
2012, from Deerpark Hotel to Olympic House in Howth.
1,500 children from local schools and the community will
take part, and the run will be jointly led by Mayor of Fingal
Gerry McGuire and Sonia O’Sullivan.
Participants should assemble at the lower end of the car
park in the Deerpark Hotel between 11am and 11.45am. The
2k distance run will start at 12 noon, and will finish opposite
Olympic House on Harbour Road Howth.
Children will be wearing Olympic coloured t-shirts supplied
by Fingal County Council. No t-shirts will be supplied for
adults
All roads will be open as normal for this event.
Olympic Torch Relay
Wednesday 6th June 2012
Cillian Kirwan from St. Fintans High School Sutton will be
the first person in Ireland to carry the Olympic Torch on it’s
arrival at Howth on Wednesday 6th June 2012 at 8am, to
Olympic House where he will be met by the President
Michael D. Higgins and other VIPs.
Spectators should assemble from 06.30am to 07.00am behind the crash railings at colour-designated
positions on the water side of Harbour Road in Howth. This event is a public event and to facilitate this
Harbour Road (R105)/Church Street Juntion and Abbey Street/East Pier Junction will be closed from 6am, with
local diversions signposted.
Anyone who normally parks their vehicle on Harbour Road or Harbour Road car-park please ensure that it is
removed before 6pm on 5th June. There will be no traffic allowed on Harbour Road during the event, however
local business and residents should experience as little disruption as possible.
