  • 5. Company slogans…
    • Mountain Dew “Do the Dew!”
    • McDonalds…. “I’m lovin it!”
    • Nike “Just do it”
    • Gilette “The best a man can get”
    • Ford “Built Ford Tough”
    • What makes a catchy slogan?
  • 6. Spokes persons
    • Athletes ie. Tiger Woods (Nike)
    • Mascotts ie. Ronald McDonald (Mc D’s)
    • Actors/actresses ex. Desparate Housewives such as Terry Hatcher (Nice and Easy)
    • Pop singers ex. Jessica Simpson (skin product)
  • 7. Print Ad’s
    • Use a spokes person or model
    • Can be drawn or a photographed
    • Have the product visible in the add
    • Have a slogan in the add
    • Use bright colours and are interesting to look at ie. They catch your eye
    • Make you want to buy the product
    • Are easy to read in a few seconds
  • 8. Examples of Print Ad’s
  • 9. Assignment:
    • Invent a new edible product
    • Design a package for your product
    • Think of a slogan for your product
    • Create a print add
    • or
    • Create a commercial (in a group of 2 or 3)
    • * group members would still do the first three steps on their own *
  • 10. Product Information
    • Create an edible product that kids (like you) would eat
    • It could be a snack, a drink, or a new type of candy
    • It shouldn’t be expensive to buy
    • It should be available to buy at a variety of stores
  • 11. Package Information
    • Choose one of the box templates and trace it onto a rough piece of paper
    • Or
    • Invent your own package
    • Or
    • Trace the shape of an existing box ex. Smarties box and design it for your product
  • 12. Package decoration
    • Colour your package with pencil crayon
    • Have the following on the package:
    • A name
    • A slogan
    • Bright colours
    • A UPC code
    • A nutrition label (see example)
