1. 1. PROJECT IN NAT. SCI.
METEOROLOGY
FELIX DE JESUS
2. 2. WHAT IS METEOROLOGY??
3. 3. Meteorology is the interdisciplinary scientific study of the atmosphere that focuses on weather processes and short term forecasting (in contrast with climatology). Studies in the field stretch back millennia, though significant progress in meteorology did not occur until the eighteenth century. The nineteenth century saw breakthroughs occur after observing networks developed across several countries. Breakthroughs in weather forecasting were achieved in the latter half of the twentieth century, after the development of the computer.
4. 4. WHAT IS WEATHER???
5. 5. Weather is the state of the atmosphere, to the degree that it is hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy. Most weather phenomena occur in the troposphere , just below the stratosphere. Weather refers, generally, to day-to-day temperature and precipitation activity, whereas climateis the term for the average atmospheric conditions over longer periods of time. When used without qualification, "weather" is understood to be the weather of Earth.
6. 6. INSTRUMENTS USED IN MEASURING WEATHER
7. 7. The Orion 420 PLC Weather Station offers a complete weather station for industrial PLC interface. With ultrasonic technology, the Orion 420 offers high accuracy and stability. Includes 4-20mA output
8. 8. The 6152 Davis Vantage Pro2 wireless weather stations are better than ever. You will get all current weather conditions including; wind speed anemometer with wind gust, wind direction, outside and inside temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, rainfall, a weather forecast and much more!
9. 9. his wireless rain gauge design eliminates the normal wire connection from the rain gauge to the indoor display. The battery operated transmitter operates up to 300 feet away.
10. 10. Judging the danger of lightning used to be guesswork. Now with the Model P5 SkyScan Lightning Detector, it's just a simple matter of pushing a button.
11. 11. Cherry Wood Multi-display for use with the MK-III RTI Wireless Weather Station
The Oracle Display for the MK III RTI Wireless Weather Stations receives the weather instrument data via radio signal from the MK III sensor transmitter assembly.
12. 12. With the world becoming increasingly sensitive to weather and climate, it is important to measure the weather accurately. The Vaisala Weather Transmitter WXT520 offers the solution to measure barometric pressure, humidity, precipitation, temperature, and wind speed and direction - all with one instrument!
13. 13. The WeatherHawk weather station is designed for easy installation and use by consumers, educators, students, and resource managers.
14. 14. The Certified Hygrometer Model HTAB-176 is certified to be accurate within ± 3% RH. The dial indicates the complete range of 0 to 100% relative humidity and 0 to 210 Fahrenheit with a ±1% accuracy.
15. 15. The Model WR-25 Weather Report Weather Station by is a full featured weather forecasters tool. It has the capability of displaying any weather data at a glance in it's 4 selectable readouts.
16. 16. The R.M. Young Model 26800 Meteorological Display offers a unique and flexible solution for meteorological data measurement, recording and display. From simple display of a single variable to recording data from a complete sensor suite, the 26800 can satisfy countless measurement needs.
