  • The next important feature of the PureFlex System is in the decades of virtualization expertise derived from high-end systems that IBM has built into these new systems -- along with the ability for application providers to build virtual appliances with their own built-in expertise that can enable new cloud-based service delivery models.If you've got all of the expertise built into a virtual image that tells PureFlex System how much compute, storage or networking it needs, that's a lot less work you have to do to go figure out what will be resources must be provisioned to meet the application’s required service levels. We have designed this system from the ground up for virtualization. Each of our compute nodes can handle more virtual machines and all of the resources in the system -- not just the servers, but the storage and the networking – are all virtualized to provide high system utilization.
