  • 1. Audience Demographics – Music Magazine. By: Farzana Begum Red2.
  • 2. Age Range
    • The age range I want my audience to be for my music magazine is 15 to 19. the main audience for my magazine will range from older teenagers to middle age adults who are interested in Hip Hop style music and they may represent themselves to other people by their clothing and the way they act in their society. They may be aspirers which they want to be part of the crowd.
    • My Target audience would also mostly be interested in music magazine such as:
  • 3. Gender
    • The gender have targeted for my music magazine which is male and female because If I choose one specific gender then I would be loosing on half of the outside audience when nowadays most genders like the same genre.
  • 4. Social Class
    • My music magazine would be aimed at a particular social group These are known as ‘scene kids.’ My magazine represents this social group as:
    • • People who enjoy music and celebrity gossip – used features are about music and ‘hip hop’ celebrities.
    • • People who go on social networking sites i.e. ‘Facebook’ and talk about celebrities that they have read about such as the new track that has come out etc.
    • • People who are fashion conscious and interested in the way they look the way that the celebrities have dressed and when they are wearing the typical clothing for the social group such as hat, baggy jeans, trainers that are from bug companies like Adidas, Nike, New York etc.
    • I want my music magazine to have a realistic portrait of this social group and therefore I think this will help in attracting them into buying the magazine. Other magazine known for attracting this social group is ‘Vibe’ magazine. Many teenagers act and try to dress in the way the magazine portrays them.

  • 5. Employment
    • The audience for my magazine id the younger audience because I feel that they are more into Hip Hop.
    • There may be a negative side to this because their parents may not earn enough and they may get enough ‘pocket money’ so they may not waste as much money on magazines.
    • On the other hand, nowadays young teenagers from age 16-19, earn there own money, by having a job; they may work after school or on Saturdays and Sundays even if they don’t want to because sometimes parent want their child to realise the importance of money so therefore, when they do earn a good amount of money they may buy a magazine of their own choice to relax them.
  • 6. Ethnicity
    • When I’m going to make my music magazine I’m going to make my music magazine multi – ethnic because I feel that if I did that t would attract more people, instead of having one ethnic view such as the magazine ‘Wajibu’ which is a cultural magazine talking about ‘love’ and ‘friendship’. Which I feel that it will be loosing half of the audience and it will only attract the people who are that religion.
  • 7. Psychodynamics
    • This word psychodynamics describes a
    • theory and a way of working derived from
    • psychoanalysis. Some psychotherapists
    • and counsellors choose this as a basis for
    • what they do.
    • I think my audience target should be
    • 'creators' or 'Critics' because they are
    • the type of people that can afford hip hop
    • genre magazines. They have a high status
    • in the social surroundings and they have
    • high earners also they are type of people
    • that are living in high stranded and they
    • are leading the life of luxury because most
    • of the audience be influenced in what
    • they see in the magazines and may
    • buy the clothing such as; hat, chain, expensive jeans etc.
