Six sigma is a business strategy that seeks to improve the quality of process by identifing and removing the causes of defects or errors and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. <br />A defect is mistake that results in customers’ dissatisfaction<br />Sigma indicates how often defects are likely to occur<br />The higher the value of sigma, the lower the defect rate<br />The lower the defect rate, the higher will be the quality<br />Value of six sigma is 3 defects per 1 million oppertunities<br />
  3. 3. 6σ uses DMAIC modle for process improvement<br />Design : Goals consistent with customers’ demands and business strategies are designed.<br />Measurment: Current performance is measured and relevant data is collected.<br />Analysis: Collected data is analysed to ensure no variation in process.<br />Improve: If there is any vriation, the process is improved.<br />Control: Deviations from targets are corrected before they result in defects. <br />
