Urban Farming Leader Farmscape Turns
Bay Area Backyards Into STEM Classrooms
Los Angeles-based Farmscape expands into the Bay Area,
turning the traditional backyard into beautiful opportunities for STEM education
San Francisco, CA – Farmscape, an urban farming company that currently brings
agriculture into the backyards of Angelinos has moved to the Bay Area. Farmscape has been
working with homeowners in the Los Angeles area since 2009 to create beautiful urban farms.
The team at Farmscape delivers beautiful outdoor spaces that produce fresh and delicious
vegetables for their clients. They also provide a unique experience to the families they work
with, the opportunity to have access to a fresh air lab right in their own backyard.
Farmscape sets itself apart from other landscaping and urban farming companies by
hiring highly skilled, professional farmers to work with their clients. Farmers working with
Farmscape hold degrees from highly ranked agricultural schools, such as the University of
California, Davis. This concentration of skill allows the Farmscape team to build gardens that
are a mix of beautiful design, smart engineering, environmental stewardship and maximum
production.
Farmscape families are paired with a farmer dedicated to their garden for the season.
Farmers visit homes to maintain gardens and harvest produce. Visits from your Farmscape
farmer become a part of your family’s routine. As an added benefit, gardening becomes a
regular activity for children. Farmers often work with children to teach them the science of
gardening, giving them a window into the life sciences.
STEM education, collaborative learning and healthy nutritional habits have all been a
recent focus for children and families. STEM education encompasses science, technology,
engineering and mathematics. Farmscape gardens are carefully engineered to maximize their
productivity while being environmentally friendly and beautiful, and provide real world
educational opportunities in engineering and science. Kids are provided hands on experience
with concepts in biology and learn how to work collaboratively with their Farmscape farmer to
grow a successful garden. Having a Farmscape garden in the home makes proper nutrition a
part of a child’s daily life.
The Farmscape team focuses on a holistic experience for their clients. Providing
beauty, nutrition and education for the families they work with is core to the Farmscape

experience. Farmscape launched in the San Francisco Bay Area on March 17, 2014, bringing
its unique brand of urban beautification to the region.
