  4. 4. Florida Birds Of Florida CranesIn Florida Sand hill Crane- Sand hill cranes (Grus Canadensis) are long legged, longnecked, gray, heron-like birds with a patch of bald red skin on top of their head. Sand hillcranes occur in pastures, prairies and freshwater wetlands in peninsular Florida from theEverglades to the Okefenokee Swamp. The Cranes fly with necks outstretched like geesewhereas, herons fly with necks tucked in on their backs. For positive identification, look forreddish skin on top of the cranes head on it. Cranes are quite omnivorous feeding on seeds, grain, berries, insects, earthworms, mice, small birds, snakes, lizards, frogs, crayfish, but donot "fish" like herons. The Sand hill cranes nest during late winter and spring on mats ofvegetation about two feet in diameter and in shallow water.
  5. 5. Florida Nature Of American CrocodileThe Florida crocodile is not as well adapted to cold weather as the alligator so SouthFlorida is its northern limit. American crocodiles are found in southern Florida, theCaribbean, southern Mexico and along the Central American coast south to Venezuela. Thecrocodile is listed as endangered in the state of Florida. American crocodiles are well-armored with tough, scaly skin. They are gray-greens or olive-green with long, slendersnouts, which distinguish them from their cousin, the alligator. Also unlike the alligator, thefourth tooth on the bottom jaw of the American crocodile is visible when its mouth is closed.American crocodiles normally crawl on their belly, but they can also "high walk".
  6. 6. Florida Climate Of WeatherThe nice climate has always been Floridas most important natural resources, which is reflected in itsofficial nickname, the "Sunshine State." The Florida is famous for its generally warm climate. Theclimate of Florida is tempered somewhat by the fact that no part of the state is very distant from theocean. In North of lake Okeechobee, the prevalent climate is humid subtropical climate, while south ofthe lake has a true tropical climate. The seasons in Florida are determined more by precipitation thanby temperature, with the hot, wet springs and summers making up the wet season, and mild to cool, and the relatively dry winters and autumns, making the dry season.Resource: Florida villas
