The main components of commercial herbicides, Phenoxyacid and benzoic acid-derived herbicides are currently used in more than 1,500 different commercial formulations , others include 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D)

Carbon dioxide on the rise, Pollution is affecting the whole world
Global Warming may occur very soon
We must do something to help as the People of the world
As the weeds compete nutrient with the plant, the plant will not grow well and could not minimize the amount of carbon dioxide in the air
How the idea came about
Idea derived after reading numerous environmental reports
Pollution was on the rise
A rapid increase in the earth’s temperature, resulting in global warming
Chemicals in the herbicides have been proven to be non-environmentally friendly by pollution of water bodies
Besides harming the environment, users have also noted to develop an increased risk of cancers, including lymphoma , leukemia , and prostate cancer.
Hence, the idea was to find a safer alternative that is both user and environmentally friendly.
To find a natural herbicide that doesn’t harms the environment using household products
Replace current commercial herbicide that used 2-4, D
To find if the absence of water will lead to the death of the weeds
Objectives of project

100 ml of Measuring cylinder
200 ml of beaker
Weeds – Phyllanthus Urinaria L
Information of weeds
Name of weed : Phyllanthus urinaria L
Common name : Chanca piedra, shatterstone
Overview of weed :
A small tropical annual herb growing to 2 feet tall. Along the erect, red stem equally set small green, oblong feathered leaves.
Greenish white flowers; small wart-like fruit which is greenish-red, underneath feathered leaves.
When the plant is picked the feathery leaves fold in, completely closing themselves.
Common weed in Suriname and closely related in appearance and phytochemical structure to two other weeds
Collect weeds ( Phyllanthus Urinaria L ) from eco-garden
Put in cups of 15 ;adding mixed burnt soil of 100g into each cups
Measure pH of the soil and Chemicals
Add in one chemical into one cup, each chemical 10g
Repeat step 1-3 for other chemicals
Write down the observation before putting it for three days
Leave it for 3 Days
Write down the observation after three days
Repeat the experiment for four times
Take the average of the results

Most weeds that have acidic chemicals poured in to the cup of soil are dead.
Alkaline chemicals like bleach, toothpaste and soap also causes death to the weeds.
Clove oil kills the weeds fastest; ≤2Days.
Water cannot be absent for the growth of the plants.
