STOCK EXCHANGE - INTRODUCTION► A stock exchange is a form of exchange which provides services for stock brokers and traders to trade stocks, bonds, and other securities.► Stock exchanges also provide facilities for issue and redemption of securities and other financial instruments, and capital events including the payment of income and dividends.► Securities traded on a stock exchange include shares issued by companies, unit trusts, derivatives, pooled investment products and bonds.

OTCEI► OTCEI was incorporated in 1990 as a Section 25 company under the Companies Act 1956 and is recognized as a stock exchange under Section 4 of the Securities Contracts Regulation Act, 1956.► It was set up to provide investors with a convenient, efficient and transparent platform for dealing in shares and stocks;► It also helps in enterprising promoters set up new projects or expand. their activities, by providing them an opportunity to raise capital from the capital market in a cost-effective manner.

BENEFITS OF LISTING IN OTCEI ARE► Small and medium closely-held companies can go public.► The OTCEI encourages entrepreneurship.► Companies can get the money before the issue in cases of Bought-out-deals.► It is more cost-effective to come with an issue of OTCEI.► Small companies can get listing benefits.► Easy issue marketing by using the nation-wide OTCEI dealer network.► Nation-wide trading by listing at just one exchange .
  • 9. UTTAR PRADESH STOCK EXCHANGE► U.P. Stock Exchange Limited (Formerly known as The U.P.Stock Exchange Association Ltd., Kanpur) occupies a very prominent place among the existing Stock Exchanges in India.► The Exchange was inaugurated on 27th August, 1982 by the then Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee► Initially it had 350 members which has now increased to 540 members belonging to almost all important cities of the country.► Total capitalization Rs.81184 Crores
  • 10. THE DELHI STOCK EXCHANGE► The Delhi Stock Exchange (DSE) is located in New Delhi, India. It was incorporated on June 25, 1947.► The exchange is an amalgamation of Delhi Stock and Share Brokers Association Limited and the Delhi Stocks and Shares Exchange Limited.► It is Indias fifth exchange.► The exchange is one of the premier Stock Exchange in India.► The Delhi Stock Exchange is well connected to 50 cities with terminals in North India.► The exchange has over 3,000 listed companies. It has received the market regulators permission from BSE and has become a member.► Now it facilitates the DSE members to trade on the BSE terminals. The exchange is also considered the same from NSE.
