Leonard is a strategic thinker with 20+ years progressive experience as experienced senior management advisor or in senior executive roles in the Airliners, Aerospace & Defense industry. He started his involvement in this particular field of business as Chief Financial Officer of the Swiss Ministry of Defense and later on when the Swiss National carrier Swissair collapse in 2001 as one of the Swiss ministry of Economy adviser. Leo combines hands-on experience with strategy management abilities, strong people management skills and motivational leadership qualities to archive results. During the past several years, Leo has expanded his international portfolio considerably, managing major projects in such sectors as economic development with focus on aerospace clusters and state development agency, aerospace & defense, airlines start-up and restructuring, airports and General Aviation, financial services and conglomerates throughout a wide range of management cultures (in the GCC, India, Libya, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Switzerland, UK and in the U.S.). Before to be fully dedicated to 1BlueHorizon Group (founded in 2007 with three partners) Leonard worked for two prestigious management consulting boutiques, Booz Allen Hamilton for 6 years and later on as Director enterprise improvement for AlixParters (U.A.E. office based), working on a wide range of high profile assignments with sound achievements and customer satisfaction. He holds Political Sciences & Economics degree from Lausanne University in Switzerland and two MBA, in Public Sector from IDHEAP Lausanne and in management from INSEAD Fontainebleau (close to Paris, France). He participated in two postgraduate programs from the Harvard Business School (Boston, MA) in the field of Leadership and competitiveness. Leo is a regular contributor to Aviation Business Magazine, conferences and forums and his vision of the Aviation, Aerospace & Defense industry is always a valuable and knowledgeable input.
