Periodic matching of your name/address records to USPS® Change-of-Address (COA) orders The requirement is met only by ‘updating’ the address, not just by doing the process Why do I have to comply? Each address in a mailing is subject to Move Update Exception: Mail pieces using Alternative Address Format are not subject to Move Update “Jane Doe or Current Resident” “Occupant” Updated addresses on mail pieces at one class of mail are qualified to be used for other classes during current Move Update cycle of 95 days © Experian Limited 2008. Key Dates for Move Update Compliance For any bulk mailings since November 23, 2008 you are required to comply with move update standards Enforcement of this rule is in effect for First Class Mail Back-end auditing is being done to those who have been flagged that they have received a significant amount of returned mail January 4th 2010 enforcement will apply to all First Class and Standard Mail Merlin will be used pre-mailing to determine compliance © Experian Limited 2008.
