      • Alcohol Addiction Treatment Services provided through a range of non-statutory organisations
  • 3. Alcohol Addiction Services
    • Services Available Cavan and Monaghan
    • The Addiction Services in Cavan and Monaghan below are the only service in the North East providing a combined drug and alcohol addiction service. Both services currently operates under the Director of Nursing in Mental Health Services. The services work closely with mental health services and have access to a full multi-disciplinary team such as behaviour therapy and works very effectively with the Home Based Treatment Team, under Mental Health Services.
      • Addiction Liaison Team – 2 WTE CNS
      • This service is based in Cavan General Hospital and liaises with all service users admitted to Cavan General Hospital with addiction problems both drug and alcohol. In 2009 the service received 324 referrals.
      • Addiction Resource Centre – 3 WTE CNS
      • This service is available to adults in Cavan or Monaghan with addiction problems both drug and alcohol by self referral, referral by health or other professionals, or a concerned person. Clinics are provided in Cavan Town, Virginia, Carrickmacross and Monaghan Town. There is currently a week week waiting list for the service.
  • 4. Alcohol Addiction Services
    • Services Available Louth and Meath
      • Alcohol Counseling Service – 3 WTE CNS
      • The service currently operates under the Director of Nursing in Mental Health Services offering a community based service providing counselling to clients or concerned persons on a one to one basis by appointment. The team work within the mental health multidisciplinary team facilitating instant access to other specialists such psychiatry, psychology according to the presenting needs of the clients. Access to the services is by self referral, Multidisciplinary Team members, GPs, voluntary and statutory agencies. In 2009 the service received 673 referrals.
  • 5. Alcohol Addiction Services
    • Services Available Dublin North, Dublin North Central and Dublin North West
      • Stanhope Centre (Barrymore House)
      • Services include:
      • Information, assessment counselling and referrals for people aged 18 years+ with alcohol problems.
      • Individual, couple, family and group counselling, including controlled drinkin counselling.
      • Relapse prevention programme
      • Outpatient treatment programme and continuing care programme
      • Residential treatment programme
  • 6. Alcohol Addiction Services
    • Services Available Dublin North, Dublin North Central and Dublin North West (cont.)
      • The Lodge, St. Vincent’s Hospital Sustance Abuse Service
      • Services include:
      • Outpatient counselling,
      • Individual counselling for abstinence, controlled drinking, harm reduction, relapse prevention
      • Aftercare Group
      • Information/referral service
      • Family intervention
      • Assessment for outpatient alcohol detoxification
    • HSE fund:
      • Alcoholics Anomymous
      • Depaul Ireland Alcohol Case Management Team
      • Dublin Simon Alcholol Support and Aftercare Service
      • Dublin Simon – Detox Programme
      • Dublin Simon Residential Alcohol Service
