  • 2. Kickboxing not only refers only to a group of martial arts and combat sports based on standing kicks and punches as it is also a style of martial art and combat sport . The kickboxing is often practiced as self-defense, general fitness , or as a contact sport . Broadly , there are several martial arts named as kickboxing , including adithada ( Indian boxing ) , lethwei ( Burmese Boxing ) , as well as Savate ( French boxing ) . In a narrow sense , the term is associated with kickboxing Japanese , the American kickboxing rules and styles or spin -off . The kickboxing in the narrow sense is often confused with the muay thai ( Thai boxing ) . Both are similar but with different extreme , not only rules , but in practice. However , the focus of the fighter during the fight is different . The rules of muay thai has the blows of elbows more . Already scams knees are allowed in both muay thai as the modality K - 1 Kickboxing.

As a combat sport, the styles of kickboxing are considered combat sports standing, not allowing to continue a fight when a fighter is on the ground, although some styles of Indochinese kickboxing open exceptions to this rule. In Kickboxing, male boxers fighting in the trunk naked in ring mode, barefoot and wear long pants in the modes that are allowed only blows from the waist up and boxing shorts in the modality that allowed low kicks.
  • 4. Musical Form : The most beautiful sport of Kickboxing , Martial Gymnastics considered . Athletes choreographed movements traditional martial arts with music using weapons or not . Semi contact : Generally fought on the mat . Aims to score points with light blows . The kicks are valid only above the waist and applied with cinnamon or instep. The fight is stopped at each marked point . Light contact : Fought usually also on the mat . Variant of full contact with the same techniques as continuous , but well controlled , dominated the technique , skill and speed over strength. Wins who apply more aimed blows demonstrating a technique more accurate . Full contact : In this mode , the athletes can use hand techniques of boxing traditional and all kinds of kicks , they reach the opponent from the waist up , watching the line side and front of the torso and head. Low kick: It is a full contact more fulsome valid use of fluted thighs internally and externally obeying the knee line up. Old : Thai kick . Now called : K - 1 rules.
