  • 2. Boy Scouts of America: Baltimore Area CouncilOne of the nations largest Boy Scouts of Americacouncils, the Baltimore Area Council also serves as oneof the Boy Scouts oldest councils and possesses ahistory going back nearly a century.

About the Baltimore Area CouncilA very active entity, the Baltimore Area Councilconsists of a 70-person staff and 65 board members.Throughout its existence, the Baltimore Area Councilhas partnered with more than 700 local groups tosupport more than 900 Scouting units across 13districts. Today, this branch of the nationalorganization holds responsibility for 36,000 potentialcampers, as well as 15,000 adult volunteers whodedicate their time to the body.
  • 4. Strategic Plan: 2012–2016 In 2012, the Baltimore Area Council introduced its strategic plan for 2012 to 2016. Based on seven key ideas known as “pillars,” this five-year plan focuses on concepts such as “Improving Impact and Participation,” “Building Excellence in Leadership and Culture,” and “Leveraging Innovation and Technology.” Click on www.baltimorebsa.org to review the new Strategic Plan.
