    • NYC Horticultural. May 30, 2014! 1 2 3 4 5 I have a meeting Thursday with the folks I met at my table last Tuesday to work on fine tuning our plan for action . . . to get newly retired teachers involved in school gardens for after school and summer teaching opportunities . . .  We would like to see the produce from such a garden delivered directly to the Food Bank, the cafeteria and/or some central SE Raleigh market area/group like the SE Fertile Ground Food Co-Op.  And, we would REALLY like to get in the conversation about changing sixty years of public school food policy to ensure that fresh healthy locally grown and dare I say organic food is the rule, rather than the very rare exception. -Tami Purdue, Gathering For Good participant.
