Basic Search
Box
Google is a
Search Engine
More about
advanced
search later.
Upper or lower case
Searches all
Put phrases in
the words you
inverted commas
put in the box
If you enter too
many words you
won’t get many
relevant results.
Useful if you want to
search for something
specific.
I wouldn’t use
the ‘I’m Feeling
Lucky’ button.
Prefix stop words
with + if you want to
include them in your ‘and’, ‘the’,
search ‘of’, ‘to’, ‘a’
are a few
examples of
stop words.
Back
Button
Sponsored links
are displayed on
the right of the
Summary
screen.
Heading… this is a
hyperlink that will take
you to the page when you
URL
click on it.
Visit the home page by
copying the first part of the This is an
URL (up to the first / ) into the example of the
way Google
browser’s address box.
Copy and paste displays the
results of your
www.dailymail.co.uk into
search.

To visit a .com site
quickly, type in the
name and use CTRL and
Enter on the keyboard.
Try it with Bupa and
see what happens.
Use CTRL F on the
keyboard to display
the Find box… for
quicker searching.
