    • TO IDENTIFY THE HEAT TREATMENTPROCESS PERFORMED ON A GIVENSPECIMEN.

    •  Dual clamping. Transparent shield. Rack and penion. Cooling system . Lubricating Oil(29:1)
    • • To preserve the specimen• To have a good grip on the specimen for polishing SPECIMEN
    • • MOUNTING PRESS:1.Hydraulic unit:•Hand pump•Quick release valve•Pressure gauge•Cross head beam Cross head beam Hydraulic jack handle Pressure gauge Time set Quick release valve
    • 2.Mounting unit:•Mould cylinder•Mould plunger•Spacer•Heating/Cooling system•Thermostat•Clock alarm Plunger Cylinder
    • We used Backlite Powder for which :-Working Temperature = 160°C to 170°CWorking Pressure = 130 kg/cm²Working Time = 6 to 9 minutes
    • To decrease the depth of scratch as a result of sectioning.Course grit abrasive is used ( SiC paper )Wet and Pressure grinding is usedThe angle must be changed upto 45 degreeafter each successive 4-5mins
    •  To make the surface shinny It wont remove the scratches Diamond paste was usedalong with an oil A radial to and fro motionwas given to the specimen tomake it mirror like
    • To increase the optical behavior ofmicro-structural featureImprove the grain size andvisibility of phasesEtching is done by an echantknown as Nital solutionRegent attacks selectively on thespecimen
    • After etching specimen was then dried with dryer. Heater is used to dry the specimenHEATER
    •  OUR SPECIMEN IS ANNEALED During Planner grinding & intermediate polishing , scratch removal was quite easy. The specimen is soft Refined grain structure More Ferrite grains & less pearlite grains .
