Hunger in America is a major issue. There

included 32.6 million adults and 16.2
million children. This equates to 14.5%
of all households.
• In 2010, 5.4% of households
experienced very low food security.

were more likely to experience food

• In 2009, 8.0% of seniors living alone
were food insecure.
• Food insecurity exists in every county
in America, ranging from a low of 5% in
