Scrap That! New idea: how dancers are represented?
How are dancers represented in film? I believe that in most dance films dancers are represented to be obsessed with there weight and with being the best. Is this really how every dancer is? I want to go into more depth and find out if this is true or not.
In every dance film? Pushy mother Rival dancers A dancer that is aspiring to be as good as another dancer Some dance films, girl sleeps with man in charge to gain part Eating disorders Least talented dancer succeeds in the end These are just a couple of things I thought of on top of my head. I want to find out more!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jaI1XOB-bs I watched Black Swan at the weekend and was horrified how the main character a ballet dancer had been portrayed. The film made me feel physically sick at some stages as being a ballet dancer myself, being giving a bad reputation is not good! Focus film? Why I chose to do this?
