• Colour palette- the pink background is a stereotypical
colour for a girls magazine. It tells us immediately that it
is aimed at girls.
• Image- The main image is a popular teen star that will
attract young girls. The rest of the images on the front
cover are of popular pop singers.
• Text- The font on this magazine is softer than most, this
shows feminism.
• Audience- The magazine has made it clear that it is
trying to attract young girl’s. From the colour to the
images and font, they are all feminine.
3. Q Magazine
• Colour Palette- The colour shows that it is
more of a rock magazine by using colours red
and black.
• Image- The image on the cover shows that it
is a magazine for older people as the image is
seductive. She is made to look like she is a
rock singer even though she isn't.
• Text- The font on this magazine is a lot more
organised as it is for older people. It isn't as
hectic.
• Audience- The audience for this magazine is
clear as she is made to look sexy by having red
lips, this will more likely attract men.
4. Kerrang!
• Colour Palettes- The colours on this cover show
what kind of magazine it is. Black, white and
yellow show that it is a rock magazine.
• Image- The centre image shows that it is a rock
magazine as the man is wearing black clothes
and eyeliner. The images scattered around show
the kinds of music are included.
• Text- The font looks as though it has been
smashed with suggests loudness. The slogan is
also ‘life is loud’.
• Audience- The magazine shows that it is aimed
at younger people who like rock music by the age
of the people on the cover.
5. Rolling Stone
• Colour palette- The colour on this cover
suggests it is a rock magazine by using
black, red and grey.
• Image- In this image she is pulling at
her clothes, this is seductive and also
most likely aimed at men.
• Text- The font on this cover looks quite
vintage, this shows it is for older
people.
• Audience- Again, this is clearly aimed
towards men as she is pulling her top
down.
