Environmental Commitment:OVERVIEW•  PNC strives to integrate our day-to-day business practices with environmental responsibility•  These green business practices enable us to… —  reduce our environmental footprint —  improve efficiency and lower costs —  increase employee satisfaction and productivity —  enhance the communities where we operate —  educate and engage individuals on environmental issues•  Started in 2000 when we built our first green building —  Firstside Center opened as the nation’s largest LEED certified building (650,000 SF)

Environmental Commitment:BUILDING GREEN•  First green bank branch in the U.S. •  More newly constructed LEED —  We hold the trademark for Green certified buildings (103) than any Branch® locations company on Earth•  Currently 136 LEED certified projects •  Achieved first LEED Platinum —  Over 100 Green Branch locations certification for regional headquarters —  More than 2.5 million SF certified in Washington, DC

Environmental Commitment:BEING GREEN•  Transparent Reporting —  Publish annual Corporate Responsibility Report —  Participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project•  Energy Efficiency —  Developed company-wide energy strategy that carefully tracks usage, installs efficient systems, and encourages conservation —  Set goal to reduce building energy consumption 30% by 2020 (using 2009 baseline)•  Waste Management —  Set goal to provide recycling at all facilities and composting at all dining locations by 2013 —  Pursue ways to reduce, reuse, and donate materials to further eliminate waste•  Paper Reduction —  Launched War on Paper campaign to reduce paper consumption by 10% in 2011•  Employee Engagement —  Host a Sustainability Community on intranet site for employees to learn and share ideas —  Expand Green Teams network

Environmental Commitment: BANKING GREEN•  Online Banking and free ATMs —  PNC online banking tools, including the innovative Virtual Wallet, allows customers to save trips to the bank, gas and paper. —  In 2006, PNC became the first major bank to offer its customers free access to ATMs worldwide.•  Energy Capital Group —  PNC Equipment Leasing runs an industry leading, full service capital provider to the renewable energy and demand side management segments —  PNC is a market leader that delivers renewable energy solutions to commercial businesses and all levels of government•  Small Business Green Lending —  Provides 50% off initiation fees and 0.5% rate reduction for $500,000 (or less) energy efficiency project loans —  Projects include the purchase of low-emission fleet vehicles, Energy Star appliances, water efficient fixtures, and efficiency upgrades to existing systems•  Energy Efficient Mortgages —  PNC is the leading lender of FHA Energy Efficient Mortgages
