  • Combining image and text for social justice Talk about what James Vitore says: Graphic Design can be used for many things, branding, information graphics, advertising, but it’s at it’s best when it’s used like a club with spikes, fighting for social justice Look at samples of Chaz Maviyane Davies, Zimbabwe national. Professor of Design at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. For more than two decades his work has taken on issues of consumerism, health, nutrition, social responsibility, the environment and human rights. On being a designer: Images transport ideas, but design drives them. The act of design is an act of independence.
