1. Multiple deposit from IR to Subject/Funders repository
A user wishes to deposit content into multiple repositories,
both on-and off campus, from within the native IR deposit process.
User creates content package
User logs in to home IR and begins deposit process (Metadata describing object collected and stored at home IR - file uploaded)
Home repository queries an infrastructure component for alternative destination repositories (e.g. Repository Junction)
Infrastructure component finds match based on data from repository registries (openDOAR, ROAR). Match list filtered (e.g. by object type, funding codes or subject classification)
Infrastructure component returns matches to home IR
User prompted to select choice of destination repositories, or input alternative if missing from list
Deposit to alternative destination repositories initiated by home IR SWORD client.
Object package received at destination repositories

2. Multiple deposit from desktop client to IR/ Subject/ Funders repository
A user wishes to deposit content into multiple repositories from a desktop client (or similar).
Opens desktop client (e.g. SWORD facebook app, or MS Word SWORD client) and begins deposit process
Basic metadata describing object collected by desktop client and file uploaded
Desktop client queries an infrastructure component for appropriate destination repositories
Infrastructure component finds match based on data from repository registries (openDOAR, ROAR). Match list filtered (e.g. by object type, funding codes or subject classification)
Infrastructure component returns matches to desktop client
User prompted to select choice from destination repositories, or input alternative if missing from list
Deposit to alternative destination repositories initiated by desktop SWORD client.

3. Journal publisher multiple deposit into IRs
Journal publisher wants to deposits the accepted article manuscript (pre- or post-referee) into additional repository location. The publisher needs a shortened “pick list” of institutional, subject or funder's repositories.
Journal publisher receives final version of manuscript after peer-review process
Metadata describing object /created extracted by publisher
Publisher queries an infrastructure component for details of appropriate destination repositories
Infrastructure component finds match based on data from repository registries (openDOAR, ROAR, BASE). Match list filtered (e.g. by object type, funding codes, subject classification, sword compliance)
Infrastructure component returns match to publisher
If positive return the publisher can initiate transfer using SWORD

4. Multiple deposit from within Funders/Subject Repository to IRs
A user wishes to deposit content into multiple repositories, from initial deposit within a Subject Repository, Funders Repository or similar (converse of Usecase 1).
User logs in to home repository and begins deposit process
Metadata describing object collected and stored at home repo and file uploaded
Repository queries an infrastructure component for alternative destination repositories
Infrastructure component finds match based on data from repository registries (openDOAR, ROAR, BASE or other). Match list filtered by combination of object type, funding codes, subject classification
Infrastructure returns matches to home repository
User prompted to select choice from destination repositories, or input alternative if missing from list
Deposit to alternative destination repositories initiated by SWORD client.
Object package received at destination repositories.
