Map Symbology, Fields and Feature Types• Consider field user mindset - Stressful environment - Pretend no map legend - Simple, clear, familiar to the user• Exaggerate Contrast between map layers• Use Scale dependency - Drawing less is more• Use annotation for text - Labeling on the fly consumes battery• Feature Types = Data Dictionary - Keep the list short and focused - Descriptive naming - Simple Rendering
