  8. 8. Portal GISAgua – Scope and definition • Portal GISAgua is a GIS Web application focused on Water and Sewer utilities data. Portal GISAgua aims to facilitate the query of GIS data and its interface with other enterprise information systems to achieve maximum exposure in the analysis of spatial data of water and sewerage utilities. • Data published on the Portal GISAgua is edited and maintained from GISAgua Desktop application, which provides all the editing capabilities and spatial analysis of a comprehensive GIS platform. • Portal GISAgua uses ESRI ArcGIS Server technology as a platform for publishing maps and services. © Copyright Agbar Solutions 2011 8

Conclusions – Difficulties in the development project Communication between different teams involved in the project ( Aquagest, Altran and ESRI ) • Defining the roles, participation and the fluent communication between teams have been crucial for the project success. Change management with the previous version. • The project arose high expectations due to a former version and they have been reached with the change of development technology, the user implication and the Aquagest and Altran effort for documentation. Iterative development and releases to the user • The project timing and functional scope implied iterative releases. These are not trivial because it was necessary to prepare environments, contingency plans outside office hours and involving the participation of various teams. Environments management: Production, integration and development. • The source code have been managed always by Aquagest and the functionality have been approved in an integration environment held by Aquagest. Functionality approval workflow. • New functionality of each release was approved not only by Aquagest technical supervisors but also by the users. © Copyright Agbar Solutions 2011 31
