  • 2. Tech Mahindra may announce its merger with Satyam in 2-3 weeks
    • IT services firm Tech Mahindra Ltd will announce its intent to merge with in two to three weeks. The merger does take time with the high court approval said L. Ravichandran, president of IT services at Tech Mahindra.
    • Tech Mahindra, which acquired Mahindra Satyam in April last year and is operating it as a separate unit, has said it can only merge the fraud-hit firm into the parent after the restated results of Satyam are announced.
  • 3. Kingfisher Airlines appoints Sanjay Aggarwal as its CEO
    • Private air-carrier Kingfisher Airlines has appointed Sanjay Aggarwal as its CEO.
    • Aggarwal is the former CEO of SpiceJet, another private air-carrier.
    • According to airline industry observers, Aggarwal will have the tough task of turning around the bleeding Kingfisher Airlines. As at March 2010, the air-carrier's debt stood at Rs 6,000 crore, the largest for any domestic private air-carrier. It posted a loss of Rs 1,647 crore in FY 10.
  • 4. Ferrari to start up business in India in January 2011
    • Italy's will start up business in at the start of next year as the luxury sportscar maker prepares to post close-to-record results for this year, Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo
    • Asked about new markets, Montezemolo said the carmaker was currently present in 57 markets. "We'll open in India in January 2011," he said, adding the company was doing well in China.
    • Fiat currently owns 85 percent of Ferrari.
  • 5. RCom becomes first pvt operator to unveil 3G capabilities
    • Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Communications (RCOM) became the first private operator to unveil its network capabilities to the public
    • A private news channel broadcast was streamed live on a mobile phone and shown to shareholders on a big screen at the company's annual general meeting (AGM) here.
    • RCOM has sucessfully bid for launching 3G phones in three metros, including Mumbai, besides 10 other circles nationally. State-owned telecom companies BSNL and MTNL have already rolled out their 3G networks for the public.
  • 6. Mahindra 2 Wheelers launches Mojo and Stallio motorcycles!
    • The Mojo is priced at Rs 1,75,000 while the Stallio is at Rs 44,699 ex-showroom Pune to make way for a competitive entry for Mahindra 2 Wheelers into the motorcycle space
    • It's been just about a year since Mahindra 2 Wheelers launched the Duro and the Rodeo scooters
  • 7. Tata to spend Rs 1.5 Cr for Aria advertisement
    • Tata Motors will drive its most ambitious to market its premium crossover Aria, which will hit the road this month.
    • The company has committed close to Rs 1.5 crore, its highest for a product, for the online campaign that started with an online game at buildadreamcar.com, two people close to the development said.
    • After the launch, Tata Motors will carry forward the viral online strategy ? a marketing technique to induce users to pass on the message to other users leading to exponential growth in the message's visibility ? to attract upwardly mobile buyers.
