Using a projector to watch a movie is an example of using technology in a classroom. But this is simply not intergrading technology within the classroom. The students are learning from the projector, but to integrate, the students should be learning with the technologies.
**Students are learning with the technology rather than being controlled by them!!
Types of technology that can be used to integrate rather than just be used…..
Computers ( Learn with them not controlled by them)
Clickers (actively participating)
White boards ( Being active with meaningful learning)
Video recorders (actively participating)
Blogging ( Interactive communication)
Types of Technology that is just used….
Television/ Dvd players ( Used to watch and learn from but not learn with the tool)
Overhead projectors ( Simply used to see worksheets on projector)
Radio/ Cd players ( Used to listen and learn but not learn with the tool)
Being able to integrate technology in the classroom makes the kids more actively participating. It makes the class more creative while they interact and collaborate with other students and forms of technology. Technologies of today help students solve problems and investigate using advanced digital tools and resources.
