About the Founder
Originally from Central Africa Cameroon, Michael Agbortoko Jr is an entrepreneur and
innovator. Since moving to the United States to pursue his education in 2000 , he has excelled in
many different things such as sports, volunteering, business, starting programs/clubs etc. At a
young age, Michael knew he wanted to work for himself rather than another person. Living in
Africa helped him because nothing is handed to you, if you want something you have to keep
fighting for it even if it includes failing and trying a thousand times. Michael believes failure is
just an obstacle to recoup and try again or tackle the problem from another angle. Throughout
high school Michael started Landscaping which continues to fund his expense and DuAfrica
today. Because of his hard work, determination and drive to succeed, the Susan and Michael Dell
foundation chose him and 399 other students Nationwide rewarding each $20,000 to pursue
college. Michael also received a full ride athletic scholarship to play soccer at Assumption
College where he pursues a business degree and a minor in graphic design. At Assumption he
saw a need and took the challenge, Michael started a program which is now funded by the
college with a $20,000 budget each semester. His experiences and his vision to help Africa is
something he strongly believes in and has taken many risk to expand his company DuAfrica.

Services
Entertainment: This section focuses on African Videos (Music videos, Movies, TV Shows,
Animations, Comedy and more). Users can watch content from the 56 African countries.
Nigerias Entertainment industry ( Music & Movies) is valued as a 3 billion dollar industry .
however it still lacks and needs a strong distribution channel. Most importantly , what about the
55 other African countries with unique content waiting for distribution. Many content creators
use YouTube and DailyMotion as distribution channels; however it doesn’t effectively reach all
viewers due to millions of other videos posted globally. With our designed program, DuAfrica,
can embed 5000 videos an hour onto our platform to serve as a destination for specific African
content. In addition to Videos, users will be able to discover old and new African Artist and
their songs on our music section. Artist are free to create a profile and will be able to promote
their music. Africas music industry is in high demand because of an increase in technology and
youths interest in music. DuAfrica will digitize content while maximizing market share and
revenue from signed, Indy and unsigned artist. Each artist will be able to create an account to
help them reach their fans globally. Artist can choose a basic or monthly plan which will give
them more tools.
Events: Currently many events happening all over the continent hear by word of mouth and
social media. DuAfrica is designed so event host using sites such as eventbrite can put their
events on our site for a percentage of each sale. This is important because international travelers
visiting the continent can purchase the tickets ahead of time and can take part in many events
3. happening where they are traveling. Without this, many are clueless of happenings unless they
hear it by word of mouth or social media.
Lifestyle
Style &Fashion: Many brands globally often seek inspiration from Africa; however it’s
difficult to discover small blogs from around the continent showcasing new trends evolving due
to a lack of marketing budgets focused around Africa. With access of the internet globally, we
want to help people experience and enjoy these Art and Fashion by digitizing online. We will
feature latest, hottest and current events happening all over Africa. This way anyone in the world
can explore the latest happenings at ease. By doing this, Artist, Designers and Models living in
Africa will have the opportunity to showcase their talents while gaining exposure. In addition,
their works can be purchased at our marketplace.

interested in their health and beauty. Users will be able to read content from our contributor
bloggers all over the continent.

foods in our video section.
Talent: This section focus on talented individuals still living in Africa. Many established
companies and new companies looking to expand into African markets need talent ranging from
(Film, Art, Sports, Fashion, Dance and more). Rather than spending high budgets by word of
mouth, car or ineffective marketing campaigns we will cut their cost in half. DuAfrica will ease
the process for companies seeking talent to fit their needs. We allow talented individuals located
in Africa to create profiles which serves as a medium to showcase their work and achievements,
talents will also have the opportunity to enter campaigns which can be a source of income if
chosen. Companies will be able to host campaigns which allow talents to submit their portfolio
in an effort to gain exposure or earn money if a specific company is interested in working with
them. In this case DuAfrica will serve as the middleman helping both talent and companies,
however before a company can host a campaign they have to pay us a fee. Also companies can
choose to request a talents information for a small fee.
Community: Our community area has a social media aspect which allows DuAfrica users to
chat with friends, family, and business on DuAfrica, facebook and Google plus directly from our
site. Users no longer have to sign on to their Facebook or Google plus account to chat. Our
community allows users to subscribe to their favorite artist and business, demand concerts, make
friends and more. Companies will be able to directly market and advertise to a wide range of
users. Each profile has features such as one to one video chatting, group chatting etc.
4. Projects: Through our non-profit partnerships, DuAfrica hopes to educate, facilitate, and create
many opportunities within the many African countries. We understand the many challenges and
problems faced by struggling communities each year. As of today we have helped sponsored
over 20 African women entrepreneurs in over 12 African countries through our DuAfrica t shirt
sales.
Explanations and/or consultations will be provided on all services and products if needed.
Competitors
The most frequently seen competitors selling or offering services similar to DuArica's method is
Notjustok, Iroko Tv, Facebook, Amazon , Indians and the Chinese. YouTube could be seen as a
competitor but it complements our service more. Being an all in one platform, Competitors will
be unable to compete with DuAfrica’s additional services because people ( especially Africans)
love when they can find everything in one place rather than going many other places.
Notjustok , Iroko Tv is a Nigerian entertainment company which showcases the latest and hot
songs, movies and music videos from Nigeria. However the other 55 countries are untouched.
With DuAfrica, anyone globally will be able to discover old, new, latest and hottest music and
videos from each of the 56 countries which will increase Africa’s Entertainment industry as a
whole. We have a program which enables us to embed over 5000 videos in under an hour; many
competitors don't even have 5000 videos on the site.
YouTube has and continues to revolutionized how people share videos and more, However since
many users can earn revenue it makes it difficult to find content on their platform. Through
embedding Youtube will handle streaming cost. Users will be able to find useful content focused
on each of the 56 African countries without extra hassle of browsing through junk.
Facebook connects the world together but it doesn't focus on one continent. Yes it’s great that
people can connect and make friends, but in Africa people are looking for ways to help their
business grow, generate new clients and to reach a global market. This is something Facebook
doesn’t really help the little companies or small entrepreneur in undeveloped nations. Not only
will DuAfrica help people fulfill their entertainment needs and socialize but we help artist,
people, international and small businesses in and out of Africa better target the African market.

DuAfrica to do things right the first time in order to maximize market share
Strategy and Implementation
Overview
The marketing strategy is the core of the main strategy:
6. Emphasize service and support.
Building a relationship and loyal business.
Positioning
Technology is taking over Africa at a rate that hasn't been seen before. With over 1,037,524,058
and no one hub to connect, educate one another about the other cultures etc the continent is
seeking demand. Recently, Time Magazine published an article labeling Africa as the “Worlds
next greatest growth engine” DuAfrica will enjoy being the forefront of Africa's future in
technology as many people, companies, countries and governments overlook Africa’s fast
growing economy. Tiger Global Management invested 8 million in Iroko Tv in 2011 to help
them distribute Nollywood movies. However that is only a piece of the pie which is untouched.
DuAfrica will build Africa’s whole entertainment industry, and also increase it standards through
our talent and their work. As of today, you constantly see many of the same actors/actress in all
the movies. By making it easy to acquire new talent for new projects, the industry will increase.
Pricing
Using the DuAfrica website to discover new content will be on a freemium basis, with
additional revenues streams such as campaigns, event sale fees and more. It is important we set
ourselves as the leader in African entertainment, lifestyle, talent and more, by doing so our
management will price all services to stay affordable and competitive while creating high
margins DuAfrica will be able to capture a significant number of new users, customers, and
businesses through our marketing campaigns.
Promotion
Promotion will be initially spearheaded by public relations because of its low cost, advertising
and social media campaigns such as YouTube, twitter and Facebook. It is important we get a
natural growth in the begiinning and can expand as we grow.
