Established in 2005, BXC (Brand-X Creative) is a branding, advertising & marketing support studio lead by creative director & brand architect, Drew Dougherty. Drew’s experience garnered from working within consumer advertising agencies, (FCB, Sicola Martin) and action board sports manufacturer’s, (O’Neill Wetsuits, Quiksilver Sportswear) as well as global fashion and sports media, (Surfing, Foam Magazine) are critical advantages for our customers. He answers the phone too.

Our little but mighty boutique agency serves clients from California to Amsterdam (with an occasional layover in New Jersey). Our studio is just minutes from the ocean and less than an hour to the nearest lift. We’re located in Dana Point, California. Drop in on us! (Bring sunscreen and a surfboard.)

  7. 7. KOMUNITY :: IF YOU’VE NEVER HEARD OF KELLY SLATER, CHECK YOUR PULSE. This new, action sports accessories brand needed all the pieces necessary to look as professional as their 11-time world surfing champion and CEO, Kelly Slater. BXC created logos, URL and name exploration, logo usage and brand DNA guidelines, ad campaigns, retail and product look and feel, website and blogs.
  8. 8. GIRO :: GOOD DESIGN SAVES LIVES. BXC and Giro have been working together on retail packaging, helmets and snowboarding goggle graphics for the past 5 seasons. Every year we provide the Giro crew with sketches, concepts, illustrations, decorative logos and icons, patterns and color breaks for their snow sports product line. Every goggle has a helmet to match. So, every year the retailers can expect and merchandise a tight selection of technical outerwear accessories from Giro. Not to mention a solid up-sell for the customer and their personal riding style. “Your gear gotta match bro.”
  9. 9. MOPHIE :: PRODUCTS THAT OPEN DOORS AND MINDS. The Mophie team came to BXC with the hope to extend their brand into action sports. From our brain-storming BXC made a recommendation for a new product that would take advantage of Mophie’s innovations and create a something special for this hard to amaze demographic. Born the Outride. The Outride turns your IPhone into a action sports mountable, waterproof camera. It comes loaded with mountable attachments, 2 waterproof housings and a high definition fish eye lens. This new product gave Mophie almost instant credibility and fodder for a major PR blitz that ripped open retailer doors and caused major excitement in existing US and global retailers. Besides product ideation, BXC also consulted on packaging, advertising campaigns, taglines and event activation graphics.
  10. 10. O’NEILL INC. :: NOT YOUR DAD’S BRAND. ANYMORE. BXC is no stranger to re-branding projects, either. Prior to launching BXC, Drew Dougherty was the Creative Director of this global action sports brand. Drew and the in-house agency created strategic brand guidelines, ad campaigns and marketing tools that inspired change throughout the organization. It was brand evangelism and re-branding on a global level.
  11. 11. HASBRO’S CUPONK :: BALL MEETS CUP. CUP MEETS BALL. Hasbro came to us with a cup, ball and an idea. We collaborated with the Hasbro team pitching and developing the brands DNA, look and feel, packaging system, logos, and product themes just to name a few. It was more then just tossing the old ball around. To be trusted by Hasbro to take their new brand to the edge of youth and adult subculture, creating collectable desire, holding it’s mass market appeal, not freaking out retailers or upper management, and actually getting it produced and to market in it’s original concept form was a huge accomplishment for all involved.

  14. 14. MATTEL’S HOT WHEELS BRAND :: MAD FAST GRAPHICS. Team Hot Wheels is Mattel’s new concept sub brand hitting retailers this year. BXC Designed the logo, illustrated backgrounds and deco support graphics, individual driver icons and a few other pieces that helped the Mattel team pull together packaging, websites, game apps, merchandise, pos and a mind boggling amount of merchandise for little car dudes around the world. We’ve seen first use of the logo at the Indy 500 with Taner Faust and a few of his groupies. We’ve even seen them on Happy Meal toys!
