Elephant foot yam is a very common vegetable in Bangladesh. Usually it is grown in the homestead areas but in few places it is being grown as a commercial crop. It can be cultivated easily and requires minimum investment and labour but very much productive. Value added product e.g. very good quality pickles can be prepared from elephant foot yam. And its taste is very nice.Generally it is consumed as a vegetable and boiled form, fried type and curry are very popular. Propagation is also easy.
