  • 1. By Probiotics Expert: Dr. Raga
  • 2.  Fivelac is a probiotic which contains an enhanced formulation five potent beneficial bacteria or microflora incorporated in a lemon-powder base.  This is a newer version of ThreeLac which only contains 3 strains of live microorganisms.  A dietary supplementt which is recommended for people who suffer from Candida.
  • 3. Each sachet of FiveLac Probitics has over 1 billion live bacteria. The probiotics strains included are: 1. Bacillus coagulans  A probiotic strain that aids in management of occasional stomach and digestion problems. 2. Bacillus subtilis  Beneficial bacteria which works by crowding out the pathogens (bad bacteria) in the intestines. 3. Bifidobacterium longum  Helps in smooth operation of the digestive system
  • 4. 4. Enterococcus faecalis  Belongs in the lactic acid bacteria group. This group of bacteria exists naturally in the digestive tract of humans. This is a result of the formulations done under the strict conditions in laboratory setting. 5. Lactobacillus acidophilus  Good bacteria that naturally inhabits the intestines. When these bacteria breakdown nutrients, they produce lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, and other by-products, which are all vital in the enhancement of intestinal flora health.
  • 5.  FiveLac Probiotics also contain other ingredients such as:  Refined yeast powder, dietary fiber as galactomannan, fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), beta cyclodextrin, erythritol, lactose, lemon juice powder, silica, canola oil.  It is also has a maximum of 30 ppm casein which is a substance that is derived from milk.
  • 6.  FiveLac Probiotics are a dietary supplement which aids in maintenance of optimal digestive function. It is formulated with five strains of probiotics which are Bacillus Coagulans, Bacillus Subtilis, Enterococcus Faecalis, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum.  These are all made into small capsules using the micro-encapsulation process. This enables the bacteria to reach the intestines without being killed by the stomach’s acidic environment.  As these friendly bacteria reach the intestines, they kill off the harmful Candida.
  • 7.  FiveLac can be consumed at any stage of the Candida diet.  Once detoxification is started, the intestines will be replenished with beneficial bacteria which helps in the restoration of the gut’s pH balance as well as food sources for good bacteria residing there. This prevents overgrowth of Candida.
  • 8.  In a clinical study conducted by Dr. Gary Shima of the Californian Health & Longevity Institute, he discovered that in 9 subjects who have been on ThreeLac (former version of FiveLac) for 30 days with an average of three packets per day, 8 of them showed decrease in the levels of Candida in the body.  Some of the benefits from ThreeLac that were found out from the study are reduced joint pain, fewer headaches, less indigestion, better allergy symptoms, Improved mental concentration, and more energy.
  • 9. 1. Dermatologic problems  Acne, dry skin, itching, jock itch 2. Neuropsychiatric issues  Anxiety, irritability, melancholy, lethargy 3. Compromised Immune system  Extreme environmental allergies 4. Digestive disorders  Extreme food allergies (lactose intolerance), indigestion, heartburn 5. Reproductive system issues  Vaginal yeast overgrowth and menstrual problems
  • 10.  Advised to be taken one packet a day for both adults and children  Can be taken either by emptying the packet contents into the mouth followed by few ounces of water or by mixing the powder to few ounces of water and drink.  For additional support, gradual increase in the number of packs can be done in the first 60 days. Then, the packets can be taken at any time of day, either with or without meals.  After 60 days, the maintenance amount can be reduced by one packet each day.
  • 11.  The packet should not be used if it is damaged or torn.  Should not be consumed when taking antibiotics  Not advised for pregnant or nursing mothers, with weakened immune system, if under medical care  Should be stored in a cool dry location; remove from direct sunlight; no freezing or refrigeration  Packets should be used within 24 hours of opening
  • 12.  Fivelac and Threelac have shown benefit, but I personally believe Probacto is far superior.  Probacto is the best probiotic that I have ever run into. They use multiple strains and they are spore forming so they can last while not refrigerated. They do not use cheap bacteria, but expensive ones such as B. Subtilis.  Probacto also contains prebiotics to help stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria in your gut.  Probacto contains digestive enzymes to assist in your digestion.  Probacto is enteric coated and made to be slow release so it will release in your gut gradually.
  • 13.  Candida overgrowth is a major health issue. It has several effects that could be detrimental to health. This is because it may also affect the other organs of the body such as the heart, lungs, and brain. Due to this fact, Candida overgrowth should be managed with interventions that would ensure optimal results. One of the preferred treatments is the incorporation of probiotics into the diet. Probiotics are very beneficial in combating the health effects caused by Candida, especially in the case of Candidiasis or Canadida infection.
