  • In the Business world, you have many famous consultants who have done very well……….. William Edwards Deming Who pioneered the teaching of appropriate principles of management, and taught organizations to increase quality and reduce costs Peter Block Wrote our text Flawless Consulting which is a basic manual for any aspiring consultant Ken Blanchard-A bald guy Who has coauthored over 30 other best-selling books notably for me…Situational Leadership and Gung Ho-All effective management and overall leadership frameworks Another bald guy, Steven Covey The famous author, motivational speaker and consultant who wrote the 7 habits of Effective people And not to be outdone …Yes, another BALD guy…An aspiring consultant by the name of…………………….
  • Dr. Stephen Bronack Who focuses on the use of innovative instructional strategies and emerging media to make education a more pragmatic and relevant process for both learners and facilitators He’s also famous for the following symbols Who hasn’t made his millions yet like Blanchard and Covey But he has made the following symbols famous
  • So how much can you make consulting?
  • These numbers are staggering……there are many dollars out there because in our consumer driven economy…there is a need for this service
  • So, Why hire a consultant? Anybody out there who has a new business idea of providing a good or service needs to have a strategic holistic approach to their business model In 2008, there were 485,312.  patent applications filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. A great number of these patents were filed by individuals who had a business idea and thought their idea could be marketable. So, to design a business…there are many things you need to think about and surround yourself with to give a business a go
  • These support boxes are in no particular order…. You need to manufacture the product, you need to Market and sell your good or service, as you grow…you are going to need some types of technology for many reasons so an IS infrastructure needs to be built….. anytime you are in business there is a legal aspect. Another VERY important thing to think about… you are going to need an HR department, preferably made up of smart passionate folks who graduated from Clemson’s MHRD program. The bottom line here is you either have the skills, knowledge or competency to fulfill these business roles or you don’t. the minute you don’t…You need to make a decision on do you hire the knowledge or skill…Or do you bring in a consultant who has the expertise you need.
  • So once you identify a need…the very good consultants will come in and take you through this process to see if what they offer fits what you need!
