3. Shotblasting is the process of
removing the top layer of concrete
from the floor. In return, installers
strengthen the bond between the
terrazzo and the surface.

7. Cracks and moisture levels are
checked during this process. A
moisture mitigation system or crack
suppression system can be applied.

11. Divider strips are coordinated
across the floor for custom logos
and other creative designs. Strips
are used for color changes and to
control expansion joints.

measured and prepared with mixing
equipment. Aggregate includes
crushed marble chips, recycled glass
or other decorative stones.

grind the floor after the terrazzo is
set. The process achieves a smooth

completed, installers will apply a
grout mixture over the surface to
remove any pinholes.

21. Terrazzo's surface is non-porous and
antimicrobial, preventing the
growth of microorganisms. A polish
gives the floor its shine. Sealers are
layered to provide protection to the
