  2. 2. Dear Executive, 2005 is a year for milestones in the CDMA wireless industry: it marks the tenth anniversary of the first commercial cdmaOne™ launch and the fifth anniversary of the first commercial CDMA2000® deployment. In addition, the Americas Congress also celebrates its tenth year in 2005. On behalf of the CDMA Development Group (CDG) and the Institute for International Research (IIR), I am pleased to announce that the 3G CDMA Americas Congress will take place on September 12-14, 2005, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The Americas Congress has grown to become one of the industry’s most respected annual events, capturing broader attendance every year, increased media attention, greater support from leading wireless companies, and an exposition of the top infrastructure, handset, test equipment, and component manufacturers, content and application providers, and related systems and services vendors. We have developed a great agenda and many of the leading operators, equipment vendors, analysts, application developers, and content providers will share their perspectives on the outlook and new directions for 3G CDMA and the wireless marketplace in the Americas. Keynotes and featured presenters confirmed thus far are Robert Odendaal, CEO of Bell Mobility; Mitch Lasky, CEO of JAMDAT; Daniel Kranzler, Chairman and CEO of MFORMA Group; Byung Moo (Brian) Kim, President of SK Telecom International; Adel Bazerghi, Vice President of Wireless Technology at Bell Mobility; Larry Lang, Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Wireless at Cisco Systems; Tadashi Onodera, President at KDDI; Dr. Won Jin Park, Vice President of the New Business and Strategic Planning Group at KTF; Timo Ihamuotila, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the CDMA business unit at Nokia; Adrian Steckel, Chief Executive Officer, Unefon and John Stratton, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Verizon Wireless. In addition to the keynotes, presentations and panels during the main conference, the Americas Congress will also feature a pre-Congress symposium and workshop, providing an in-depth look at topics of key interest, and the eleventh annual Test Forum, the premier event for test and measurement professionals. We are looking forward to an exciting celebration in Miami. I hope you will make plans to join us. Sincerely, Perry M.
