  • CDMA2000 was the first IMT-2000 technology deployed in October 2000. WCDMA was introduced one year later, at the end of 2001 in Japan, but it did not take off until 2004 with more deployments in Europe and parts of Asia. EV-DO was deployed in January 2002 and it was the first broadband wireless technology deployed. It has quickly expanded throughout Asia, North and Latin America. HDSPA was first introduced at the end of 2005 and to date there are 23 commercial networks in 18 countries. Rev A, the enhancement to Rel 0 introduces higher RL and QoS to allow all-IP delivery and will be commercial in 2006 while the WCDMA equivalent will be available at least 1 year later at the end of 2007. Rev C ultra broadband will be available at the end of 2008 while LTE is scheduled to be available in 2010.
  • Compares to 355 WCDMA devices and 41 suppliers 32 HSDPA devices CDMA2000 devices operate in several spectrum ranges, including 450 MHz, 800 MHz, 1700 MHz, 1900 MHz and 2100 MHz, and many of them support multiple bands.
