    • Creation Healthcare and Doctors 2.0 & You team up on largest-ever diabetes social media study into healthcare professional views #doctors20 Press Release Creation Healthcare and Doctors 2.0 & You team up on largest-ever diabetes social media study into healthcare professional views London and Paris – May 13, 2014: Creation Healthcare and Doctors 2.0 & You have announced a partnership to release unique insights from the largest-ever global study of healthcare professionals’ (HCP) views carried out on diabetes in public social media. Diabetes is a disease which affects 347 million people worldwide with the World Health Organization projecting that it will be the seventh leading cause of death in 2030. The topics of diabetes and social media have been important to Doctors 2.0 & You since the conference began.
The study, conducted using Creation Pinpoint, has analysed over 200,000 public social media posts by doctors, nurses, consultants and pharmacists in more than 120 countries from April 2013 to March 2014. The data on HCPs’ views on the diagnosis and management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes will be published in June. Creation Healthcare CEO, Daniel Ghinn, will present insights focusing specifically on HCP opinions on pharmaceutical products at a session at the Doctors 2.0 & You Conference in Paris (5-6 June 2014).
The presentation will reveal the attitudes, concerns and questions that HCPs have about individual brands and treatments connected with diabetes. Mr Ghinn will also reveal for the first time the pharmaceutical brands most actively discussed in public social media connected with the life-long condition. At the conference, the partnership will also provide free, personalised Digital Clinic sessions (pre-booked) with members of Creation Healthcare’s executive team who will provide specific guidance to companies and healthcare organisations on applying insights from the diabetes study. Daniel Ghinn said: “Doctors 2.0 & You is the definitive conference focused on the role of doctors in the digital age. HCPs are increasingly using public social media professionally to learn, share knowledge and express opinions on products and treatments. Through the partnership, our research and digital clinics, we aim to support healthcare companies so they can immediately apply new ideas generated at the Conference.” Denise Silber, Founder of Doctors 2.0 & You Conference said: “Creation Healthcare has developed a real expertise for analysing HCP views in public social media, and so we’re delighted to announce this partnership in particular regarding diabetes, a key area for a growing number of attendees. The combination of original research and digital clinics at the Conference provides an innovative added value for participants seeking to better understand physician conversations regarding diabetes.” 1.
